The National Maritime Museum is now fully open after a multi-million pound refurbishment for the millennium celebrations.  Children now can go in free to see this fascinating treasure of shipping history. Many relics and story-boards. The Sea comes alive! The whole family will enjoy every moment at this popular spot. Modern multi-media exhibitions and the latest exhibit features.

The entrance to the National Maritime Museum has moved to the main frontage flanked by 2 buoys to help you navigate your way in.

A huge glass roof has been added to create Neptune Court.   The entrance is dominated by a lighthouse lamp and an enormous ship's propeller.

Inside Neptune Court you can see close-up everything from Royal barges that ferried monarch's up and down the River Thames to Greenpeace capsules.

Go upstairs to the Nelson Exhibition and get a pigeon eye view of Nelson who's body laid in state in Greenwich just a few yards from this spot after the Battle of Trafalgar.

On your way up the Royal Observatory stop by the Titanic Garden's and look at the magnificent dolphin sun-dial.  The shadow of the dolphins tail-fins give accurate time.

Greenwich England is where East meets West at the Greenwich Meridian (0° Longitude); World Time is set Greenwich Mean Time. Remember the new millennium started in 2001.

Greenwich has a long heritage; it was the birth place of King Henry VIII and his daughters Queen Mary (Bloody Mary) and Queen Elizabeth I (The Virgin Queen).  All the English monarchs can be found at Royal History.

It has seen many famous visitors from Peter the Great through Charles Dickens to Bob Hope.  This and a lot more in Greenwich Past.
